The Organization
Founded in 2019, Love Us, Inc. was the brain child of a family from Chicago’s Englewood Community. The youngest king of the family envisioned “Love Us” being the name of an apparel company. The young queen of the family visualized using the “Love Us” name when repaying the community for its phenomenal upbringing by continuing to do good deeds for others. Through some collective strategizing the concept of using “Love Us “as a mechanism to bring the love and commitment back into the community was born. “Love Us” began with small Back to School events and school supply donations. Based off those successes, we decided to explore the reality of beginning a Not for Profit Organization as we moved to and broaden our outreach across the Chicagoland area. Love Us, will strive to afford youth the opportunities, resources and programs to aide them in becoming playmakers while overcoming certain obstacles (i.e., bullying, negative peer pressure, and the challenges faced from with low income households. We will foster relationship building and attempt to teach proper etiquette.
Love Is an Action Word!!
Our Impact
Unlike when they were raised on 70th near Damen, gentrification, abandoned homes, low income families and limited resources have changed the outcome of the playmaker in the community (The Youth). It’s imperative that we work with local leaders, organizations, business owners, clergy and others to tap back into not only Englewood but Chicagoland as a whole. We are striving to provide resources and programs for children who are often times labeled as “at risk youth”. Together we can make a difference in the lives of many by working to change their mindset and ushering them away from negative distractions. There’s more to their future than what they see outside their front door or on their walks to and from school. We have plans to show them a different tomorrow and how to live through life’s temporary challenges. Through these efforts we envision them becoming more confident playmakers who will actively take charge of their future. Love Us is looking to provide positive solutions to everyday challenges.
